Rings, Trinkets and Amulets

The Codex lists 9 rings, 13 trinkets and 17 amulets that any class can be offered, plus a legendary amulet for every class spell. They come from battleground caches, elites and guardians, and stacking the same piece makes it stronger.

Where jewelry comes from

During a run the top bar shows your gold and the price of the next battleground cache (20 gold at the start; right-click a cache to buy it). A cache, an elite kill or a slain lair guardian opens a choice of a ring, a trinket or an amulet. When a guardian dies "its lair yields treasure and its strength, and the other guardians grow stronger". Rings and trinkets take slots; an amulet takes the single amulet slot and replaces the one you wear.

Legendary amulets

They are only offered once your hero knows the spell. Names seen in the game text include Eye of the Splitting Sky, Stormcaller’s Amulet, Heart of the Earthshaker, Amulet of the Inferno, Talisman of the Tempest, Medallion of the Bladestorm, Pendant of the Plague, The Reaper’s Amulet, Breath of the Black Dragon, The Eternal Talisman, Charm of the Fated Hour, Amulet of the Ancients and The Legionlord’s Medallion (Warlock demons).

Stacking rules

  • A new one, by rarity: the card's rarity sets its starting value.
  • Picked again: it grows by nearly the pick's whole worth every time; some grow toward a ceiling, each pick less as it nears it.
  • Offered while worn: it is empowered, its numbers growing toward three times their own.
  • Major Soulstone: picked again it refills its lives, 2 at most.
  • Seal of the Damned: damage over time ticks faster, up to a maximum.

FAQ

How do you get rings, trinkets and amulets?

From battleground caches (bought with gold during a run, starting at 20 gold), elites and lair guardians. Each source lets you choose a ring, a trinket or an amulet.

What happens if you pick the same ring twice?

It grows. A repeat pick adds nearly its whole value again; a piece offered while you already wear it is empowered, with its numbers growing toward three times their own. Some have ceilings, such as the Major Soulstone (2 lives at most).

What are legendary amulets?

Each class has one legendary amulet per spell (11 to 13 per class). It remakes that spell and is only offered once your hero knows the spell. The Codex tracks which ones you have seen.
