Azeroth Survivors Guide
Your map through the free World of Warcraft survivors roguelike.
Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made roguelike by Aethus that runs in your browser on a rebuilt WoW 1.12 client. Pick a class, survive the horde while your spells cast themselves, and kill five bosses per zone to open the next one. We played it, read every menu, and turned it into a guide.
The play button opens the original game in a new tab. This site does not host or embed it.

What is Azeroth Survivors?
Azeroth Survivors is a survivors-style roguelike set in classic World of Warcraft. You only move: your spells fire automatically at whatever is in range, enemies pour in from every side, and each level-up deals three cards that add a new spell or upgrade one you know. It plays like Vampire Survivors inside the original Elwynn Forest, Duskwood and Blackrock Mountain.
A run starts at 00:00 with one spell. Bosses arrive on a timer shown at the top of the screen, gold buys battleground caches with rings and trinkets, and the zone is won when its final boss dies. Every run, win or lose, pays talent experience to the class you played, so even a short death makes the next hero stronger.
The game is made by Aethus and is free at wow.aethus.pl. This site is an independent guide: every class number, talent and boss name here was read from the live game on October 21, 2026.
Start here
A good first run starts on the character screen.
Open the game, let it finish "preparing world data", click a class, and press Enter to drop into Elwynn Forest. Nothing moves until you do: the banner says "Move to begin."
- 01
Open the original game
Go to wow.aethus.pl in Chrome, Edge or Safari and wait while the client and game data download the first time.
- 02
Pick a class, race and zone
On the character screen choose one of 9 classes, a race in the Armory, and Elwynn Forest, the only zone open at first.
- 03
Enter and move
Press Enter, then move with WASD. Spells cast on their own; press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a level-up card.

Which Azeroth Survivors class fits you?
Nine classes, each with a starting spell, a level-up spell pool and three talent trees. Health is the biggest early difference: the Paladin starts at 245, the Warlock at 165. Difficulty below is our read of health, range and self-protection, not a win-rate ranking.
Warrior
Melee bruiser · 230 HP · starts with Cleave
Unstoppable in the thick of it. Huge health, cleaving swings, and every kill feeds the fury.

Holy tank · 245 HP · starts with Consecration
Holy ground and righteous hammers. Heals himself, shrugs off death once in a while.
Paladin guide →EasyHunter
Ranged marksman · 240 HP · starts with Auto Shot

Hunter guide →HardRogue
Melee assassin · 190 HP · starts with Sinister Strike
Fast, fragile and lethal. The quickest hero, with crits that delete elites.
Rogue guide →MediumPriest
Shield caster · 170 HP · starts with Smite
Light and Shadow. Shields and heals keep you alive while pain spreads through the horde.
Priest guide →MediumShaman
Storm caller · 195 HP · starts with Lightning Bolt
Storms that jump from foe to foe, and totems that fight beside you.
Shaman guide →HardMage
Glass cannon · 215 HP · starts with Fireball
The glass cannon. The biggest area damage in Azeroth, and nothing to hide behind.
Mage guide →HardWarlock
Damage-over-time summoner · 165 HP · starts with Shadow Bolt
Curses and fire. Damage over time stacks up on everything that chases you.
Warlock guide →MediumDruid
Shapeshifting hybrid · 205 HP · starts with Wrath

How combat and leveling work
Enemies drop experience wisps and gold. Each level adds 3% damage, 9 maximum health and 0.08 health per second, then pauses the game with three cards. A card is either a new spell (it takes one of 6 spell slots) or an upgrade that ranks up a spell you know. Rarity, from Common to Legendary, decides how big the bonus is. R rerolls the hand; you get 3 free rerolls per run.
The top bar shows the timer, the next boss countdown, kills, gold and the price of the next battleground cache (20 gold at the start). Caches, elites and lair guardians offer rings, trinkets and amulets. Watch the warnings: "A pack hunts you!" and "Swarm surrounds you!" mean a wave is closing in. That pack is what ended our first Warrior run at 2:44.

Talents: 51 points, three trees, one capstone
Each class has three WoW-style trees (355 talents across the nine classes). Points come from talent experience: time survived, kills, bosses and wins, with a bonus in harder zones. A row opens for every 5 points in a tree.
The talents that matter most are the milestones at 10 and 20 points and the capstone at 30, because they change how spells behave: Bladestorm gives the Warrior a free Whirlwind every 3 seconds, Cheat Death saves a Rogue once every 2.5 minutes, and Summon Water Elemental gives the Mage a pet.

All 12 Azeroth Survivors zones in order
Only Elwynn Forest is open at first. Killing a zone's final boss opens the next one for that class, and bosses drop better gear the further you go: two zones per rarity tier, from common to legendary.

- 01
Circle the crowd, never cross it
Both of our early deaths came from walking into a group. Move along the edge of the horde so your spells hit the front rank while the rest is still walking.
- 02
Fill your six spell slots, then rank up
New spells add damage and coverage early. Once the slots are full, high-rarity upgrade cards for your best area spell are worth more than another weak spell.
- 03
Treat short runs as progress
Our 2:44 Warrior run still paid 69 of the 80 talent experience needed for the first point. Survive a little longer each time and the talents do the rest.

Troubleshooting
No WebGPU, "Too many people are playing", saves and slow loading.
Fix →FAQ
Is Azeroth Survivors free?
Yes. It is a free fan-made game by Aethus. You play it in the browser at wow.aethus.pl with no account, and there is also a free Windows download. The only payment link in the game is an optional "Buy me a coffee" button.
Do I need World of Warcraft or an account to play?
No. The browser version downloads everything it needs the first time you open it (about 517 game files and 349 world files in our test) and keeps your progress in the browser. You do not log in.
Is Azeroth Survivors an official Blizzard game?
No. It is a fan project by Aethus and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. This guide site is also independent of the game.
What is the best class for beginners?
Start with the Warrior, Paladin or Hunter: they have the three highest health pools (230, 245 and 240). Our first Warrior run lasted four times longer than our first Mage run. See the class tier list.
How long is a run?
In Elwynn Forest the five bosses arrive at 3:00, 6:00, 9:00, 12:00 and 16:00, and the zone is won when the final boss, Edwin VanCleef, falls. After a win you can keep fighting in endless mode.
What do I need to run it?
A browser with WebGPU: a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. On Linux, Chrome needs the enable-unsafe-webgpu flag. If the site says "Too many people are playing", use the Windows download. More fixes in troubleshooting.

Azeroth Survivors is made by Aethus ("Made by Aethus (zuzia miau miau)" on the character screen) and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment. This guide is independent: we play the live game, read its menus, and take our own screenshots. Class health, starting spells, zone order, boss names and talent text were checked on October 21, 2026 in v0.106.0; boss timers beyond Elwynn Forest and late-zone mechanics still need longer runs before we publish them.
