How gear works

A new class starts with no gear ("No gear worn yet. Bosses drop it for your class, for good."). Each boss carries one piece for your class; when it drops, the loot banner says "New in your collection!" and the piece stays with the class. Worn pieces add stats such as damage, cooldown reduction, max health, crit or movement speed; right-click a piece in the Armory to equip or unequip it.

  • Slots: Head, Shoulder, Chest, Waist, Legs, Feet, Wrist, Hands and Main Hand.
  • Drop chance: 60% per boss piece in Elwynn Forest's drop table; each piece rolls on its own and a duplicate adds nothing.
  • Per class: "gear and looks are kept per class", so every class builds its own collection.

Class sets and weapons

Each class's armor takes a set name per tier; weapons have their own names. Shamans and Rogues have two weapon lines (shield or off-hand dagger).

The game text also lists PvP pieces (Field Marshal's and Warlord's sets, Grand Marshal's and High Warlord's weapons) for the PvP tier.

Looks and tabards

The Armory's Character tab lets you choose what each slot shows: a worn piece, any collected piece, the starting clothes, or nothing. Tabards are account-wide cosmetics from the Rewards tab; battleground tabards (Warsong, Silverwing, Arathor, Defilers, Stormpike and Frostwolf) come with their zone's achievement.

FAQ

How does gear work in Azeroth Survivors?

Bosses drop gear for the class you are playing. A piece you collect is kept by that class for good, and its bonuses apply whenever you wear it. Each class has 54 pieces: nine slots in six rarities.

What is the drop chance for boss gear?

In Elwynn Forest each boss showed a 60% chance for its piece in the Drop Tables. Every piece rolls on its own, and a duplicate adds nothing. The Keen Eye perk raises the chance by 5% or 10%, and Run Options can raise boss loot odds up to ×2.

Can you change how your hero looks?

Yes. In the Armory, Shift+Right-click a piece to show it as the slot’s look without wearing it, or hide a slot. Only worn pieces add bonuses.
